It’s only done 3k miles, wonder why someone got rid of it after that few miles.

Because they got a better deal on a better car like the Chevy SS

Either they are young and couldn’t keep up with payments or they are old and didn’t realize how stiff the suspension was going to be.

I’be heard complaints that it’s to harsh even on the softest settings. It really has taken the Evo’s role

They realized they accidentally bought a Subaru.

A few showed up at autocrosses when they first came out but haven’t seen them since in months.

10/10 it was a press car. 3000 miles all on Road Atlanta.

I was amazed to see a Focus ST with under 2k miles at CarMax when I was shopping for mine....Granted, it was CarMax so a brand new one was significantly cheaper but still... I was left with many questions.

While the SS is a better commuter, I wouldn’t necessarily call it better. It is about as fast, but only in a straight line. The RS will be far more fun.

Because $35K goes a helluva lot further in the used market! Car was underwhelming for what it promised to be. I’d have to fix the interior layout, seating position and steering wheel itself before I could make a real case for it.

Underwhelming and overhyped seems to be the general consensus.

Precisely - I was hoping this would better straddle the market between a WRX and Golf R.
Just give me a more exaggerated, fender flared Golf R with an APR tune and Ohlins coilovers. I am ready to be a responsible hoon.

I would argue that that SS would be just as much fun or more fun in the twisties than the RS. Especially the 2014MY w/o magneride.

I only had my FoST one year and just shy of 4000 miles on it. I liked it well enough, but missed having a truck.

Eh, MY themselves said the RS was likely the most fun car they ever had on a mountain. That 600 lbs and suspension setup makes it a hard competitor.

Good for you(like seriously, zero sarcasm ‘good for you’ comes off wrong a lot)!! If you work hard and manage your money well a nice car can certainly be within reach at a young age. I’ve just seen lots of people(I’m 23 right now so right at that age where my friends and I are first starting to make what you could call real money) think they can afford a lease/car payment that catches up with them real quick, or at least takes a big chunk out of money they realize they’d rather put elsewhere.

I tired to buy an E90 M3 when I was 23, it would have been a $1000 a month for 60 months. That would have been done. I saved up for like 8 months and put 40% plus taxes down. It was really rewarding to get something like that at my age.

To be fair, I’ve personally witnessed 3 Subaru’s blow their motors but the only other catastrophic failure I’ve seen was a shitty SRT4 Neon blowing its transmission.
![]() 11/10/2017 at 09:34 |

Oh, Subaru definitely had a problem with head gaskets, the issue is that the head gasket thing was only with certain engines from certain years, but everyone acts like all Subaru engines are head gasket time bombs. It’s like saying all Ford engines are bad because of the RS issue.

last i checked the EB mustang isnt having head gasket issues, only the RS because the head gaskets are different

We have a member with an EB Mustang that blew a head gasket.

huh, no wonder i havnt seen kroll around much. i just know in the article tracy put out yesterday the problem seems to be more localized to the FoRS due to a different head design and gasket, and K-rolls mustang was tuned. most of the FoRS were stock. could also play
![]() 11/10/2017 at 13:27 |

yeah, it probably isn’t as common as it is with the RS. I just know that a lot of people think the CTR has overheating problems because the one Matt Farah was testing overheated on him, but everything I’ve read seems to point to that being an isolated incident. Hence the meme.
